You Can Now See If Google's AI Answers Are Showing Your Firm

The Search Console view that counts how often your pages appear inside AI Overviews and AI Mode has widened well beyond the small group of sites it started with.

From a small pilot to many more accounts

When Google introduced its Search Console generative AI performance report on 3 June 2026, only a limited subset of properties could open it. That has changed. Since around 23 June 2026, access has been reaching many more sites, reportedly including firms in the United States, India, Switzerland and the United Kingdom, with more added week by week. Google's John Mueller described the expansion as incremental and feedback-gated, saying the team is "rolling these out incrementally to sites, and reviewing the feedback along the way." So if the report was greyed out for you back in June, it is worth another look now. (That reporting comes from Search Engine Land, which is owned by Semrush.)

The report does one job. It counts how often your pages appear inside Google's AI answers, meaning AI Overviews and AI Mode, plus Discover. You can slice that count by pages, countries, devices and dates, down to hourly granularity.

A visibility signal, not a demand signal

For a partner who wants the firm found, this is the first hard number on a question that used to be guesswork: are our pages actually surfacing when Google answers with AI? Until now you could only infer it from patchy third-party trackers.

Read the figure for what it is. The report counts impressions only. There are no clicks, no click-through rate and no query data, so it tells you only that your pages were shown, without saying whether anyone acted on it or what they searched for. Treat the number as a baseline for visibility and watch the trend over the coming months rather than reading too much into any single day.

There is nothing to install and nothing to fix. If you have Search Console access, look for the AI data inside your Performance report. If it is not there yet, the rollout is still moving, and your turn may simply not have arrived.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to do anything now?

No. There is nothing to install or change on your website. If you have Search Console access, check whether the AI data now appears in your Performance report. If it does not, the rollout is still expanding and access may reach you later.

Does this mean my rankings have changed?

No. This is a reporting change, not a ranking change. The report simply shows how often your pages already appear inside AI Overviews and AI Mode. It does not move your position or affect how Google ranks you.

Why does the report show impressions but no clicks?

Google has included impressions only, broken down by pages, countries, devices and dates. It does not include clicks, click-through rate or the queries that triggered the appearance. So it measures visibility, not the traffic or value behind it.

How do I know if my firm has access yet?

Open Search Console and look inside the Performance report for the AI data. Access widened from around 23 June 2026 and reportedly reached sites in the United States, India, Switzerland and the United Kingdom, with more added incrementally. If you cannot see it yet, the rollout is ongoing.
