Two new Flash models are live in the Gemini app now; the flashier "worldwide" features carry regional limits worth knowing.
On 31 July 2026, Google published its monthly Gemini Drop for July, the recap of what is new in the consumer Gemini app. For most people the headline is speed: two new models, Gemini 3.6 Flash and Gemini 3.5 Flash-Lite, are now available in the app, which Google describes as offering better reasoning and greater speed. The speed bump reaches everyone; the "worldwide" claims do not
For a firm that cares about being found, the quiet part matters more than the feature list. Fast, low-cost models are the ones doing the work when a prospective client asks an assistant to shortlist accountants or lawyers in their city. Each upgrade to those models changes, slightly, how those answers get written and who gets named. There is nothing to configure and nothing to fix. It is simply worth knowing that the machinery behind AI recommendations keeps moving.
The regional caveats are where partners should read the fine print. Gemini Spark's "worldwide" rollout explicitly excludes the United Kingdom (along with the European Economic Area, Switzerland and Nigeria), so UK readers will not see it despite the global framing. The new personalised image features are, for now, available only to users in the US. Australia, Amina's primary market, is not on the Spark exclusion list, so the new models and Spark should reach it; the personalisation extras are US-first and will follow later, if at all.
The one thing everyone can use today is the pair of new Flash models. They are on by default in the app, so there is no switch to flip.
